Peugeot 407 Bootlock

The boot lock has just gone for the 4th time in my P407, 1 week after it was last repaired. It is really getting on my nerves. The key isn't opening it and the button isn't working either.

If anyone has experience with this problem can ye shed some light on it for me. My mechanic told me it happens in all them at some time in that a wire breaks or gets loose.

Like many cars this is a common enough problem on the 407's and is usually down to broken wiring in the rubber conduit that connects the boot with the body.
There is a manual way to open the boot but you have to climb into the boot via the back seats and press a release catch tru a small hole on the boot lock.
You will need to remove the bottom of the boot lining inside to gain access to this release catch..:)

Being broke for the 4th time are you familiar with any permanent fix for this?

You usually need to extend all cables so the best fix is to solder in a piece of wire around 20-30cm long onto each cable as the original cables maybe corroded further up inside.
