Issue is laptop with water spill , not all key working so cant type in preboot password (trurcrypt) , tried plugging in a USB keyboard but will not recognise it at this stage.

Any ideas how to get around this?

First of all, hopefully the water hasn't done much or indeed any damage. Have you dried and cleaned it down at motherboard level?

Easiest solution is to get a new keyboard, provided the motherboard or connectors aren't damaged. Ebay will have something for most models around €20-€30, possibly less if you're lucky. If you had another laptop - the same model as your's, simply swap out the hard drive and boot it up. You could also remove the HDD, capture it as an image and convert it to a VM but that's a lot of effort, especially if you're not familiar with the process.
