I'm planning to build my first desktop this year and looking for advice on my build. It will be used mainly for gaming.

    Case
    Corsair Vengeance C70

    CPU
    AMD fx-8350

    CPU Cooler
    Noctua NH-D15

    Memory
    8gb Corsair Vengeance

    Motherboard
    Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5

    Hard drive
    Hitachi HGST 1tb

    SSD
    Crucial BX100 120gb

    Graphics Card
    Nvidia Geforce GTX 970

    PSU
    Corsair CX750m

    Some final questions
How important is a cpu cooler?
    Is a SSD worth it?

    Any feedback appreciated

I'd recommend an Intel build. 500w PSU is enough. Yes an ssd is worth it, and if.you aren't over clocking there's no need to get a new cooler

For an intel build would I just be looking at changing the processor and the motherboard?

Yeah everything else is universal. Don't know what that motherboard costs, but an i5 4460 and a decent h97 is about 250-260

Also recommend getting a 250gb BX100, doubling your space for €25 or so

Alright I'll check them out. Thanks for the help.

Where are you buying from? Throw up a list of prices and see if there's anything better value

Looking at hardwareversand, seems to be what most people recommend. Once I have a better idea of the parts I'll check around other sites.
