You might pick new units up on eBay.de a bit cheaper, carsystems.pl or fiscon might have any looms needed. Then some vcds should get them working.

Do the mirrors fold electrically now?

I think he was querying whether they currently fold electrically but you need to push a switch to do it or whether they do not have electric folding at all.
I specd them when buying my A5 and they were very small money 250 euro or so yet they are not so common which is odd.
If you picked up a set used, they should be a cheap enough retrofit.
some wiring might be needed but nothing major and then just a tick box via vagcom.

German prices on eBay are higher than the UK ones but the choice is far superior. You will still cut the cost down from new ones but it I wouldn't my breath for getting good condition units ultra cheap.

    Old model then.
I Would assume your mirror covers can be reused with the folding internals so damaged or covers of wrong colour would likely be perfect.
