    Just saw Sharon Tobin presenting the 6 o'clock news. (I know that she was previously a reporter and also occasionally reads the news on radio). I always have thought that she is excellent at reporting & presenting-really professional.

    Colette Fitzpatrick has probably been the best newsreader since Anne Doyle retired - followed by John Finnerty and Aengus.

    Think the newsreaders are good atm. The lady reading the news on UTV Ireland is very good (can't think of her name). Anne Doyle was superb.

    Her name would be Alison Comyn. I agree with you as she does an excellent job on Ireland Live.

    I remember some comedian doing a skit on Anne Doyle before, and the line that always cracked me up was:

    "I am Anne Doyle. I am the news!"
