Terrible article. What's them being travellers got to do with it. I know for a fact that most travellers make their money by repairing tins and pots for farmers and doing odd jobs like paving etc.

I agree, terrible article but typical of the Indo in it's race to become a full blown tabloid. I find it very hard to believe that at least 24 people are falling for this every week.

24 a week seems alot but I could see why some would fall for it.

I don't have a huge knowledge of cars and a few years back I was looking for a cheap car in and around 1.5K. The the things I was looking for in specific for the car was an NCT and a Tax cert.

In the end things changed and my need for a car changed.

If the guys who are selling these cars look and sound half decent then I could well believe they'd make the sale.

When are we going to learn that unless we shower travellers with even more gifts then their frustrations are going to play out in these situations (bless them). Free housing, healthcare, education and social welfare is just not cutting it. We must do more for them. No group are all bad.

Interestingly, one housing scheme for travels was found to be costing 500.000 per unit .
When questioned on it politician said that as well as being large house due to family size, the properties has to incorporate additional parking for caravans etc plus they had to provide them with paved storage areas that would allow them to carry on the traditional activity of gathering scrap etc.
So they are getting social housing yet being facilitated in terms of cash in hand work.
