    Hi,
So they were selling punnets of fresh strawberries in LIDL recently and I thought it was a good opportunity to try out a recipe I'd come across for infused gin.

Unlike sloe gin, strawberries infuse quickly, so just a week or so and it's done.

    I used:
    300g strawberries
    300g apples
    2 limes
    200g caster sugar
750ml gin (I used LIDL gin, no need to use top quality stuff for this).

I chopped the apples and limes into quarters and threw the lot into a kilner jar. Shook it daily for 10 days and today strained it through a muslin square into a clean airtight bottle.

It's delicious. I'd probably use less sugar next time. It's quite liqueur-ish. The fruit is sweet already (unlike sloes).

But a wonderful first attempt for me. I'm eyeing the raspberries in LIDL now......
