Looking for a bit of advice, I was thinking of buying a hedge trimmer. Would be putting it on a New holland tm155. Not looking to spend massive money for a year or two until I see how it goes but looking for something half decent - I'm thinking McConnell?

What make/size of trimmer would ya recommend.

What kind of money should I be expecting to buy for something decent?

Reckon youll be spending around 5k for something half decent, up tp 8k for 'respectable'-i bought an old mcconnel lately, from uk, anything this side was a wreck, and the dealers have no problem asking silly money, buying abroad is a dose in itself though..id go on condition rather than name..

Paid 6k for a McConnell about five years ago, got them to put new head bearings in and change a couple of hoses. No hose guards on it , not a problem, done a sight of work and very happy with it.

Yeah make sure the head is balanced and in good order as it could cost upto €500 to balance up a head

You won't go wrong with a well maintained mcconnel. Good quality machine, parts aren't cheap but price of flails had come down lately. Fella I know got a good deal trading his against a Ferri a few years back and bent the rotor twice the same year, he'd never had the trouble with Mcconnel.
20 foot reach should enough for most jobs.
