Change of direction as a graduate

I couldn't find an "employment" forum so hoping here is suitable.
I'm about to graduate from a HDip in a more specialised sector of the industry I have worked in for 15 years. I am interested in pursuing my career in this sector and only this sector.

The problem is when employers and recruiters see my CV they only seem to look to my experience and continue to suggest position similar to my old position.

How do I get past this? How can I get employers to look to my qualifications in the same way they would for a graduate with no experience?
