I'd guess that anyone at that craic is being financially creative in all of their business. I wonder is there any follow up on it from other agencies.

Dear Gardai, Revenue and various different facets of the state. There's a couple of billion quid missing from just around the corner from coppers. Check it out. I'd say there's far more wonga recoverable from that particular swindle than there'll ever be from sending out a number of individuals to recoup an amount of money that's far inferior to the actual cost of recouping it. And to he fair it's all because ye didn't do your job right in the first place. I'm not condoning such shenanigans but in fairness there's bigger fish to fry.

Of course they know what they are doing but I've a feeling it will be a case of garage stamp and false name or something like that.

A stop lads, a single traffic guard is hardly going to go after the state looking for the few million thats missing, they take orders from above. Anyway, more of this sort of thing I say

The real scam is the price of tax in Ireland:

    http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/advice/road-tax-guide/bmw/6-series/coupe-2004/26670/

£290.00 per year to tax in the UK, €1809 to tax in Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,903 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

should be like the uk where there are no disks to be faked and everyone just pays something reasonable like 300 pounds.

although since they broke anpr I can't see that happening for a while.

The real scam is paying 50 odd percent tax on everything over wages in the low 30K. But you don't have much choice in that if you're a paye chimp.

Buying a prestige car and fiddling the tax is as classy and prestigious as Christmas in rathkeale. Buy a corolla and stop spoofing like!

I only mentioned a place, not a culture or lifestyle choice. People can jump to their own conclusions :-)

The 1.4 version is particularly popular here in Ireland for some reason....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,698 ✭✭✭Hachiko

that is actually £505 to tax a year but still cheap compared to Ireland - if its pre 2010. If 2010 or newer it will be £1100 per annum.

if you're on old tax its 1809 but new tax it would be 2000+. you get *****d from every angle when it comes to cars in ireland

Not a country for petrol heads, I can see why ever man and his dog has moved to daysuls.

It's not difficult to see why Japanese performance cars have always been popular here.
You're never really going to pay more than €720 in tax, insurance eventually gets reasonable too.
