ECB rate and when it will be raised

    Looking at what they say in that it "wont be touched before 2016", would a betting man assume that this means it will be thereafter. Any takers?

    My own opinion is that it (and oil) are bound to shoot up when a bit of stability (post this Greece situ) is around.

    The US will increase rates first, then the UK and then the ECB but not before quantitative easing (in the euro zone) has finished and the French, Spanish and Italian economies get back to sustainable growth which could happen at the earliest in 2017.
    My own opinion is that it (and oil) are bound to shoot up when a bit of stability (post this Greece situ) is around.

    You think the price of oil is depressed because of the situation in Greece :eek:

    And that ECB rates will 'shoot up' when the Greek situation is fixed :confused: Not a chance.

    7 years after the crisis and the BoE, Fed and BoJ have not raised rates. The ECB have decreased rates from where they were 2 years ago. When will rates go up? Will they go up? Who knows. My guess is that ECB rate increases are a long time away.
