    Hi,
for my small diy project I started building a new corner desk which is based on my old desk.
I got one plank 115x50cm, unfortunate the old one had wider top. Instead of getting a new plank I decided to add 10cm to it. Now comes the hard part. I have two 115x20cm and none of them have straight cut. There's loads of small gaps between them. Any solution how to get sides straight? I only have basic diy tools as this is my first project.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You will need to plane the edges with a sharp hand plane to flatten them, ideally you will need a vice to hold them when planing, getting edges flat and square on pieces of wood which are to be glued together is one of the most difficult tasks in woodworking
