Anyone got any recommendations for decent headwear? My skin seems really sensitive this year for some reason, getting burned even on short walks up bray Head and the like. Dont want to be caught out down in Kerry with no protection this Summer.

Looking for something decent that Ill have forever but isnt heavy and doesnt make me look like a twat. Does anyone just use a buff instead?

What is getting burnt and are you wearing a cap on your head?
Aldi do a good suncream that is not greasy like the usual ones. It can be put on at the start of the day and will give protection for most of the day. It is called Calypso.
A light buff may help cover your neck or a wide brimmed hat. But the wind can cause problems with the hat and be too much hassle.

My forehead and the top of my head, should have said sorry. Thanks for the tip about the Aldi sunscreen, I absolutely hate wearing the greasy stuff.

The best suncream I've found for outdoor use is from Lifesystems.

They do a SPF40 version too. It's pretty sweat resistant so doesn't end up dripping off your forehead into your eyes like a lot of stuff.

Hat wise, forget about being afraid of looking like a twat, hillwalking isn't a fashion show. Your health is more important, so just get a decent wide brimmed hat.
