    Can anyone direct me to where I might find information regarding a d class boats specs ie maximum persons permitted max gross weight etc?

    I'll ask around later to see if any one remembers the spec. Lifeboatman across the road is probably too young to remember as our local went to IB1 in 2003 and a mate who crewed the old one is off somewhere in the Med and uncontactable. It's probably in the region of 3/4 crew and 4/5 survivors.

    The one in Howth had a capacity of 8 in total. They reckon they maybe 1 more if really needed but the most they ever did was 8 from 2 simultaneous shouts off Lambay and Rush.
