How long can revenue go back to claim underpayment?

    A family member thinks they have an underpayment of tax for last year and have health expenses to claim, I know the health expenses can be claimed for 4 years but can revenue potentially go after them for the underpayment after that (if they aren't aware of it yet). I don't know what to advise her, I think the net bill is about 1k

    There's no time limit. Reason being the onus is on the taxpayer to ensure they've paid the right amount of tax.
