So It's finally gotten to the stage where my Frankenstein'd PC isn't up to the job any more. Put this build together quickly and just need another pair of eyes on it to make sure it makes sense.

I'm not completely up to date on the best after market CPU coolers for the price these days (air) so could do with some suggestions there

So this is what I've picked out, prices from HWVS through Geizhals

    Intel Core i7-4770K Box, LGA1150
    350,67 €

    Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 G1 Gaming, 4GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, 3x DisplayPort
    595,73 €

16GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance Low Profile schwarz PC3-12800U CL10-10-10-27
    104,90 €

    WD Red RD1000S 3TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB
    116,99 €

Corsair Enthusiast Series RM650, Modular, 80 Plus Gold 650 Watt
    112,26 €

FRACTAL DESIGN Define R5 Black, ATX, ohne Netzteil
    104,90 €

ASUS Z97-PRO Gamer Gaming MB, Sockel 1150, ATX
    127,45 €

    1. What is your budget? ~1500€

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, currently at 1080p but will be picking up a 1440p monitor in the next while, music production, fairly heavy multitasking

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Have a unopened 250 GB SSD that will be going in, as well as some old hard drives

    5. Do you need a monitor? Not yet, picking up a 2560x1440 soon, suggestions welcome

5a. If yes, what size do you need. ~27', possibly 21:9

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? See above

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes

    8. How can you pay? Any

    9. When are you purchasing? In the next week

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Dublin

R9 290X is about 60% of the price, and preforms very similarly at 1440p, I'd go for it.
i7 4790k is only a tenner dearer than the 4770k
a 500w PSU should be loads with either card, looking at about 80 for a decent modular one.
Could go for a cheaper board with a single card set up, grand for CF or SLI.

Cooler Master Evo 212 is the stock 3rd party cooler recommended about these parts, its 30, or Noctua NH-U12 S is about 70 iirc
