Tractor insurance

Well I have decided to take the plunge and change the tractor ( been planning to for quite a while and have finally made a move). Current tractor is over 30 years old so is only insuranced 3rd party, so about €100. The one I'll be getting will be about 15 years old so I'll be upping the insurance.

Been looking at 3rd party , fire and theft which will be about €190. If I add glass to that it'll go to about 250 and comp will be €290.

Not sure if that is good value or not. What kind of insurance do most people use and what are the other companies like as I'm currently with FBD.

I don't think it sounds too bad , I'll ask the father here cos he does the insuring but I thought he said the tractor was over €300 fire and theft !

Was that with FBD? Because any time I renew the farm insurance they wouldn't be knocking anything off for taking out extra insurance.

No a broker in Killarney , it worked out a lot cheaper , 250 for tractor alone and 370 for everything

How did you get it on the 5000? I couldn't get more then 3rd party on the tractor and digger

A vario rebuild could set you back around €10k.

Do any other insurance companies allow you insure tractors under their own policies or is it only under the banner of farm insurance.

I have just got a quote to renew with FBD and its ridiculous.
