Any recommendations for bike shops that would be good for buying a 2nd hand road bike? Looking for a Giant Defy 3 or similar and don't mind paying a few quid extra for one from a shop. Dublin/Meath or surrounding areas. Thanks!

Really very few bike shops do second hand bikes anymore, most people go to adverts, donedeal, gumtree, or our own adverts forum :)

I know someone on here picked up a 2nd hand cervélo soloist with Zipp 404s for a bargain price (600 iirc)in hollingsworth cycles.

No way would a reputable bike shop let something like that go for so cheap

Hollingsworth is a reputable bike shop.

The Cervelo Soloist is ~10 year old alu bike with (probably) heavy alu rimmed Zipps and a reputation for harsh ride quality.

    I wouldn't call it cheap.

Always found this shop very good myself. Doesn't sell stuff very cheap either and I've rarely seen typical high-end bikes in there (such as would be likely to be robbed).
I'd like to think that they took it on in good faith.

Anyone any experience of this crowd?

I have my own "opinion" on the types of bikes sold (and possible bought) here.
