Why do you want to factory reset?

I usually re flash the custom if I want to go back to as it was, usually say if I changed the Kernel myself.

To be honest Im not sure, I know it will reset some stuff, but dont think it will delete apps etc.

A reflash would be better in my eyes.

    I usually
    Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache
    Then flash the rom

Try Sd Maid to clean up this stuff

If you want to start with a clean slate you need to wipe everything but your sd card. Then reflash the rom

Factory reset will set the rom back to the way it was when you first installed it, that will wipe everything including your internal storage.

What sentient said, return it back to how it was right after the ROM was flashed. Never tried it in the ROM though, I normally reset it from recovery mode. No need to reflash the ROM

Boot into recovery, do full wipe then install your ROM again.

That will delete everything but not your SD.

Flashing the ROM without wiping will do nothing.

Be sure to backup anything you want before wiping.

Ya, but if it where a CM12 rom you could just enable again in developer options, no supersu need(which is going to get deleted in the reset if you have it).

If the ROM was pre-rotted then you won't lose your root
