Any recommendations for a gaming build?

I've decided over the last while I'd like to get back into gaming, I'm not particularly interested in the PS4 or Xbox One, due to the lack of a decent back catalog, nor the PS3 or Xbox 360, due to the outdated hardware.
The solution, in my opinion, is to build a gaming PC.
I'd like a powerful, quiet machine with a lot of storage. Budget isn't really an issue, but at the same time, I don't want to spend an insane amount of money on a PC that has way more power than it needs.
I want to be able to play pretty much any game I want on max settings, and not have to upgrade it for a few years, I want a large hard drive, I'd say 1TB would be a good enough size, due to the prices of SSDs, I'd rather go with a HDD even if it'll give off a bit of noise. A disk drive isn't necessary, I plan on using Steam or other online distribution methods for my games.
I don't already have a copy of Windows, so I'll have to add that in to the cost too.
Any recommendations for a build?

CPU is loads, GPU can handle pretty much anything at 1080p max, should be loads for a few years, case is sleek, cold, quiet, board is pretty plain, it'll work, 1tb HDD, 250gb SSD, worth the money, PSU is loads, too much tbh, and 8gb ram is plenty.

I'd be looking for 1080p, but I'd settle for 720p, if 1080p was going to cost much more, any resolution above that isn't a concern, as I can't see myself buying a display capable of that for a long time.
Edit: Thank you, seems like that should fit my needs fairly well, if anyone else has any other suggestions, I'm happy to consider them as well.

That'll handle 1440p fine, so 1080p is grand and 720p won't come close to pushing it

Anything else posted is going to be 90% the same tbh, i5 4460 or R9 290 are the only other parts worth looking at. i5 might be better actually, knock you back to a grand for virtually no difference. I'll link it tomorrow

Sure it's vendor-sponsored, but I'm building around the graphics card (which seems most important) and the GeForce GTX 750 looks a good entry point and gets a good review here: tweaktown.com/reviews/6551/asus-geforce-gtx-750-ti-2gb-oc-edition-video-card-review/index16.html .

I suppose it depends on what you want to play (for me it's World of Tanks, maybe some Steam titles) and how much you want to pay (about what's in the guide, say €500 tops). Other than graphics card (and I'm open to suggestions just as you), I haven't really decided on much else, though the barebones ASRock H61MV-ITX mobo in the guide looks hard to beat @ c€50.

750ti is your best card at €500, or a second hand 270x. MSI H81 P33 is €50, better board. You're probably better starting your own thread if you want a build drawn up
