Pretty sure it's a '74 or a '76, according to what I've found online. There was a photo and full spec of it here - http://www.kurtkaminer.com/TH_raleigh_catdata.html - but it appears it's on one of the pages that's no longer working.

It's a blue 531 frame with chrome forks, nearly all original spec. Paint is in poor nick, and some dints in the steel, but nothing worrying. Some surface rust.

It's a project my OH wanted to start a good while ago, so she bought this as a semi-beater/restorer - I ordered new Tektro brake levers, white Prologo bar tape (Which wasn't applied correctly, but still could be... pains me to look at it tbh) along with a new tyres.

Unfortunately it got put on the long finger, then on a longer one, and now it's a decoration that I kind of want rid of, and she has zero interest in. Which is a shame, because it's a really nice, fast bike. It's shifting perfectly, brakes are a bit funny since it's not been used much (Moreso the rear. The front is pretty ok considering it's 30-40 year old tech), and will need to be replaced, or at least fixed with some enthusiasm. I've a feeling a replacement quill stem would make life easier too, you'd pick one up for less than a tenner in Rothar.

I think it's a 58cm, or a 56cm pretending to be a 58cm. Or visa versa - I can ride it at 6'4", my partner at 6' and a friend at 5'8 with the saddle a pretty low.

All in and up front, perfect for a beater to lock up in town that performs better than it looks, or if someone wanted to strip the frame of paint and lacquer up the steel. Or, considering the front mech, DT shifters or the top tubes cable holders are banded on by ornate rings that are easily removed, it'd make a neat looking single speed/fixed with a magic gear ratio. Comes with original rat traps, minus the leathers, and can include the original brake levers too, if wanted (But I'd advise sticking to the new Tekro's..)

I'm making a bit of a loss on this as I ended up getting the new levers, tyre, tubes, getting the wheels worked on to make sure they were ok, etc so I would be looking at about 110 quid, Dublin 7 and unless it's a weekend or late in the evening, pickup only.

Actually I think it's probably way too big for me. Sorry.

    Lovely looking bike though.

Hey Popmart - Ezra is going to take a look at it tomorrow, I'll report back after that.

Ezra had a look today and may come back to me next month if it's not sold, but if you'd like to have a look, I'd be willing to split the difference at €100?

Oldbean - thanks for the update, you got here before I could repsond to your last post. Unfortunately I had to on move on something else I had my eye on, so I'll have to withdraw. Sorry! Best of luck with it though, its a great looking bike!

I can pay the €110 and collect this weekend. Had a bike stolen so this would be perfect.

Hey AdMMM, I'd arranged earlier with CramCycle to pop 'round and have a look on Sunday. If he's not interested, I'll give you a PM straight away.
