    Hi folks,

I have set up my Duo2 and it is working really well. I can access it via iPhone / iPad (using the Blackbox app) when on my home wifi network.

My next job is to set it up so that I can access the box remotely. From what I have seen there are two ways to do this: (1) open the ports on the router or (2) create a VPN. It looks like the second option is probably more secure so I would prefer this way.

If anyone has any guidance on the steps needed to set this up please let me know. I know very little about VPN/DNS so an idiots guide would be perfect.

If there is a reliable free option then that would be great but I am not against spending a couple of euro if required.

    Thanks in advance...

Internally I use the VU+ App and VLC on my android box. Bear in mind that you need to install VLC on your box as a transcoding server externaly. If you have a static IP you dont need a dns. Then read. http://www.tillekesoft.com/ANDR_instructions.html You need good broadband @ home!

Hi STB, thanks for your response.

    Still lost :(

The Duo2 has hardware transcoding on board. Do I still have to install VLC as a transcoding server?

When you say 'static IP' I presume you mean an external static IP, not just a static IP on the internal network? I have configured the box not to use DHCP but I do not have an externally accessible IP or DNS and I am having trouble finding out how to set it up for the Duo2 box.
