Hi all, I want to buy my Dad a golf trolley. He is not interested in electric trolleys as has one and prefers the manual. I was thinking of either powakaddy twinline 4 or clicgear 8.0. I have been trying read up on them both. He has been looking at both of them however I don't think he knows which or if something else is better. He is retired and plays twice a week and never spends on himself so he would probably buy one in argos and be happy but I would like to get him something really good. I know nothing about golf to be honest so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking online at Halpenny, MCGuirks and Golf support. Thanks guys :)

Can't really help with the comparisons and differences between the two but I have a Powakaddy twinline 3 for the past three years and happy with it. Hassle and maintenance free, sturdy and easy to push. The twinline 4 looks like a nice modernisation over the twinline 3 and probably more compact in it's folded state.
I can only see a Clicgear 3.5 on the McGuirks website and it doesn't show it in it's folded state so not sure how compact it is. It has a better looking card/storage area around the push handle but the trolley itself is €60 more expensive than the Powakaddy so not sure it'd be inclined to spend such a premium for it.

Thank you so much for your response. It is hard buying something I know a little about. The clicgear 8.0 is a lot more it has 4 wheels which he commented on he liked on UK golf site. I think though from reviews Powakaddy seems really good and sturdy buy

Motcaddy do a non-motorised push caddy that looks good. Halfpenny have a cheap one on their site.

He might think the Clickgear trolley's look at bit flash.

Cant comment on the Powacaddy 4 but I've had a Powakaddy 2 for a few years without issue (other than the putter compartment not quite suiting the trolley strap location but not a big deal).

Im sure any shop will allow a swap a trolley if he doesn't like the one you pick or if it doesnt suit his bag.

Clicgear 3.5+ is vastly superior to any offering from the electric buggy manufacturers, they are well balanced, light and easy to push, also easy to unfold and fold.
Stay clear of motocaddy and powacaddy, unless you are buying a electric model, because their push models are the same chassis as the elcectric ones with the only difference being they use narrower wheels on the push models and this adversely affects the balance.
