I am currently being quoted around (1,140 incl VAT) for a job to replace a cracked bath and cracked toilet (both causing leaks).

The cost does include removal fo the current fixtures and all labour but it still seems expensive to me or is it about right?

depending on what sanitary ware is in the spec or is it cheap and cheerfull?
is it including classi seal on the bath and repairing the tiles around the bath?

Cheap and cheerful, I don't know about classi seal (what is that?) and it's not including the repair of the tiles around the bath.

seems expensive generally changing a bath takes about a few hours unless there more involved. Take a picture of the cracked bath and post it..how old is the property

I don't live in the house (it's my tenant) so I probably won't see it. It's also kind of an emergency situation that needs to be sorted asap (it's being done today) so I'm not in a great position to negotiate.

To clarify - the cost is €1,169 incl VAT (13.5%) and including an initial call-out charge of €140.

So the real cost of the job is more like €1000 parts and fitting - but the tiles will have to be fixed separately.

A standard bath and toilet going in I assume ? Another case of theft IMO.

A new bathroom suite consisting of toilet/cistern, sink/pedestal and bath complete with taps could be purchased by non-trade for less that €300. No sink/pedestal needed in your situation. He will be in and out in a few hours. You can work out the math yourself.

I thought as much as in a panic I fell for it and went for it as it was a (kind of) emergency situation, I was out of town and I just wanted to get the situation sorted for my tenants asap as they were showering at work and couldn't properly use the toilet.

I won't be making the same mistake again!
