Hi all, roughly how long does a commute from rathmines to Northwood in Santry take people in the morning if work starts at 9am? What are the best bus options or driving route? Thanks for any advice y'all have!

140 to IKEA (takes approx 1hr in morning), 8-10 min walk to Northwood or you could get off at Phibsboro and take a 4 to Ballymun Road.

Alternatively an 83/83A to Ballygall Road West (approx 50 mins), than a 17A to Santry Avenue. (or take a 83/A to Phibs and get a 4)

Or a 16 from Kelly's Corner to the Gate of Northwood.

OP - it depends on which side of Northwood you're going to - if it's the Ballymun side then the 140 and a walk would do it for you.

If it's the Santry side, then any bus from Rathmines (14, 15/a/b, 65/b, 83/a and 140) to Georges Street and 16 from there. Alternatively stay on the 14 until Beaumont Road and change to 16 there.

Did Dartry to Santry for a few months.

Fastest is to cycle to city centre, then bus to Santry, you pass all the traffic going in and are going against a lot of the traffic going out of town.

To be honest after a few weeks I was cycling the whole distance both ways which was the handiest and fastest way. About 10-11 km each way, 45 minutes without breaking a sweat.
