    Hi,

I am wondering do you need planning permission for a mobile home to be placed in the garden of the family home in co.wicklow?

If it was any other county id say no you don't need any..(as long as its not been lifted over houses)... But the garden county is a funny old place best check with your local council.

You can store a caravan, camper van or boat within the garden of a house for up to 9 months in any year. They must not be used as a dwelling nor can they be used for the storage, display, advertisement or sale of goods.

so if you occupy it, or store it there for longer than 9 months, you need permission

Yes you do. Big difference between a mobile home and a caravan.
