Tax Relief for Tuition for part time course.

    Hi.

    I sent off the receipt for 1800 and received 85 after reconciliation.
    I was expecting at least 10% or was I wrong?
    I work full time and my salary is taxed on the higher rate.

    The first €1375 of a claim for a qualifying part time course is disallowed for tax relief which left you €425 to obtain tax relief on. The relief is granted at the 20% rate giving you your €85.
