    Hi there,

I own a roland keyboard amp (120w) that has served me very well over the years. Recently I have noticed a hum when there is a jack inserted into the input. the jack does not have to be attached to an instrument to hear this. When there is no jack connected, there is no hum. I was wondering what is causing this and how to rectify it.

The Jack your useing might be damaged, try using another one. Just sounds like a loose connection somewhere.

Silverson, thanks for your answer. I have tried numerous jack leads. I own more than a single one dont worry!.

I have experimented with various power conditioners and di boxes.

Is the noise still there when an instrument is attached?
I had a similar problem before and it was the input in the speaker had a loose connection, was just a matter of opening it up and re soldering.

    Thanks for your replies silversun.

The hum is still there when there is an instrument attached. The hum is there when there is only a jack lead attached and no instrument. I wanted to make sure that there was no issue with the keyboard, ( i experimented with different instruments anyway). The hum is not there when there is no jack in.

It has multiple inputs, and the issue remains when I plug a jack into any of them.
