Advice about applying for a part time job in Dublin

    I'm a 23 year old student and I've had no luck with finding a part time job in Dublin. I pick up temporary work during the summer and christmas but can't seem to find anything more permanent.

    I've applied for a load of things online in the last 6 months alone and this leads to nothing at all. Unfortunately I have neither retail or restaurant experience so this automatically rules me out for most of those jobs. I was thinking of maybe getting some work experience in either of those areas.

    I don't feel I write a particularly good cover letter nor is my cv that good. I'm just wondering what advice if any some of you would have for me?

    Have you tried any places in person? I know it can be tough but for those kind of jobs a lot of the time you need to go into the store, ask for the manager and hand in a CV.
