    Folks.

Any recommendations on a good Log Burner to heat a 100+ year old Irish Cottage?

    Thanks.

To get a answer or a meaningful answer that will have any value to you need a little more info.

Does the cottage have any insulation? Is it stone walls?

What is the size of the space you are trying to heat? - This is key for any recommendation.

Are you hoping to heat the whole cottage from this stove?
If so then presumable looking at boiler model that can heat rads.
If going dry stove what are the other heating options in the house?

More info you give more accurate the answers can be
    - on top of the above do you like the standalone style/have you room for it/do you like insert style etc.
But these are secondary, first need to figure out what output stove you need and whether going with boiler model

Edit - also are you committed to just a log (timber) burning stove or would you consider a multi-fuel stove (where you could still use primarily timber)
