Out of interest, do they have cameras out the back or the front (or both)?

Speed camera pointing out the back window, able to catch cars travelling in both directions.

Camera at the back can measure speed in both directions. Camera at the front is for operator security only.

Radar detector can go off from the front of the van or back but never both. approaching back of the van detector goes off , as you pass the van it stops going off. Or approach the back of the van , not going off, pass by the van and it goes off.
    Id be wary either way

your kidding .you honestly didnt no...suppose your one of these who don,t know the speed limit and when you see a go safe van you brake so hard so that the car behind you nearly crash in to you .sorry for rant but i am so fed up with clueless drivers who dont give a damn about any rules of the road:mad:

At the time i honestly didn't know but i know now. If i know the speed limit and im over it and i see a speed van of course i will brake in an attempt not to be caught. I of course wouldn't want someone behind me to hit me but if they were too close to the back of me and went into me it would also indicate they were also speeding and not taking due care and attention to the road and surroundings! No need for rant blondie - no such thing as the perfect driver.

    That's crazy statement.
Other poster said he didn't know that cameras catch both ways, and you are on him for not knowing speed limits, braking hard on speed vans and don't giving a damn about rules of the road.

To be honest with you - the way speed vans work is not a part of rules of the road, neither a driving test.
You could be perfectly educated driver, and still don't know how they work.
