Any reason cancellation insurance cover??

    Hi all, am looking to book a holiday but with work and family commitments its hard to find a date to suit!
    We have decided to agree on a date and hope for the best!
    Since the holiday is costing approx €1000 we would like to cover ourselves incase we have to cancel
    Is there any insurance policies we can purchase and use in the event we have to cancel our holiday for any reason as the reasons set out in most policies would not apply to us, dont mind paying a few quid, rather be covered than not

    None as far as I know. There is options on Aer Lingus to book as Flex, this allows you to change dates of flights after your booked, downside is the flights can be almost double the cost of normal ones.

    All travel insurance policies have a defined list of 'events' which can be used to invoke cancellation or curtailment cover, you've clearly read some sample policies so I'm not going to repeat the typical list.

    If you're asking for an insurance policy that will cover you because you decide not to go for no particular reason i.e. on a whim, there is no such policy.
