Fitting toyota avensis projector style fog lights

    Hi Everyone

I am planning on buying some fog lights for the front of my car (Toyota Avensis tr 2009- onwards),
Looks like they had lights before as connectors are all there just no light units (think bumper may have been replaced).

Trouble is i can't figure out how the lamps attach to the bumper?
They are the projector style fog lights and i have felt around where the light should sit and there is no brackets or screw holes to attach to?

Am i missing something or just missing something obvious as i really cant see how these lights attach.

Seems really strange i would presume there should be a bracket but i have searched online and found nothing yet when i look up ebay the lights have screw holes on them as if they are to screw into something.

    Any help appreciated

I might be wrong here, but I think there are clips already in the bumper that secure the unit to the bumper, you only use one screw IIRC

Thats what I thought but there is nothing to screw into.
I was expecting one screw hole but nothing and no clips.
Has anyone fitted these lights on before as I dont want to order lights if there is nothing to fix them too

I know on other models you need to thread the hole in the bumper. How is the blanking plate held on currently? Have you actually had the bumper off yet?

That exact foglight is used across a variety of Daihatsu, Toyota and Lexus models by the way.

    Hi Colm

There is no blanking plates on the bumper just two holes where the lamps used to be and the wires inside to attach bulbs too.
I have removed the panel in the wheel arch so i have a good view for anything to secure lights too.
I went to the motor factors today to see if they had any ideas, They thought the lights have been removed on purpose for some reason but there should be brackets on the bumper to hold the new lens in place.. but he wasn't 100% sure.

No sign of anything to screw into so that rules out screwing them to the bumper as screws would just go straight through.
I can only presume that there used to be spring loaded brackets to hold the light in place,so i need to find some.
