Hi everyone, have a bit of a problem...I spread some slurry last month and unfortunately it didn't rain for a few days after it was spread. I know it was my own fault for not looking at the forecast. Anyway I was walking through the land and there are still some lumps of slurry which haven't broken up yet. Has this ever happened to anyone before or any suggestions on how to get rid of it?? I was thinking of trying to hire a grass harrow maybe?? Let me know what you think...thanks

I wouldn't panic over this. Never heard of anyone getting a harrow to break up slurry in the field.
You can't do much more than you have already done i.e. spread it.
Throw a bit of nitrogen on top of it and watch it grow.

Did the amount of rain that fell already not wash it off??

I got caught out by a few days just the work that we had on at the time but it's well washed in now though.

No, if you looked at the field you would think it's perfect but when I walked through the field there are lots of hard lumps of slurry through the grass. I let in the cattle and they sniffed it but would only eat around the headlines...

Roll with heavy roller ,that might break the lumps.

Mmmm...I might test it on a section. I had an idea of using some sort of grass harrow or aerator originally??
