Well lads me mother got a new phone but it takes a different size sim. Will she lose her credit if she tranfers

No she won't. Just go to the phone shop and get the correct size sim and ask them to transfer the number. As long as it is the same network you'll be grand.

can also go into carphone warehouse if there is one nearby and ask them to cut the one she has.
