Sensor Excel Bloodbath

Well folks, after the week before last of using an electric shaver (being on holidays) and barely shaving at all the last week (had the flu), for the past two days I've shaved with a Sensor Excel I picked up in the chemist. Since I find the Mach 3 to be far superior to the Fusion I was curious to see if the Sensor would be even better again.

First impressions, it's light, cheap, very small head and easy to maneuver. The downside? Ripped the neck off myself two days in a row now. This thing is seriously unpleasant. It's not too bad on the face with just one weeper on the chin area but my neck looks like I've been double teamed by Freddie Kruger and Edward Scissorhands. It sounds bad too, kind of a thin, waspy scraping noise as it takes the whiskers off.

I usually shave with a DE but I like having a cartridge razor around for when I'm in a hurry. Thoughts anyone? Did I get counterfeit blades maybe?

Some people like for a razor to make a sound or give "feedback". With a DE you can change your angle and hear different feedback which some claim helps them achieve a superior shave.

Thanks Beardy. Yeah I love the satisfying feedback from a good DE. Fairly shocked though that the Sensor was so rough.

A Sensor Excel is my only remaining cartridge razor, use infrequently since began DE shaving, but always get decent shave with it, never had any problems.

Wonder if I got counterfeit blades?
