Employment and Non-Compete Agreement

Just curious - if I sign a non-compete in Ireland, with an Irish company and the paperwork says it's governed by the laws of Ireland....and then leave Ireland, never to return, is it enforceable outside of Ireland?

More of a curious hypothetical than a question that matters for me.

Offhand, very narrow non-competes are legal but have limited geographic and time effect. They as well concern poaching of costumers and using company data. Rules deriving from EU's freedom of employment could be invoked if the non-compete could be deemed too onerous.

No. Non competes or restraint on trade clauses have to be proportionate and limited in geographical scope
