Can u test for slow puncture ? My back left tyre looked perfect yesterday and when I went out this morning it was flat . Put it back up to 32psi awhile ago and it seems to be ok again ?

done a bit of driving and checked it out again it's holding at 32psi for now ?

Was thinking messers left the air out of my tyre but it's highly unlikely .

    :pac:

If you have a tyre inflator you can leave it connected for a while and see if the pressure goes down.

Otherwise your best bet is to take the wheel off and look to see if there's a puncture or damage to the tyre.

You could park in a puddle and see if it bubbles...

    change it

in short, the tyres are what keeps you on the road

could you live with yourself if your loved ones were in the car and something happened?

change it ASAP, the tyre will blow

Keep an eye on it over the weekend.

Without knowing what if any kind of puncture op has or not your post is off the rails altogether.

Not unless you want to take the wheel off. Submerge it into sudsy water and look for bubbles

It could be a small hair crack on the rim as well or faulty tyre valve, happened to me before, tried to find puncture in tyre using water method never founded puncture until I immersed removed wheel completely in the old baby bath, instead of the tyre puncture I found small almost invisible crack inside of the rim, paid 40euro for welding job in one of tyre shop stops...

Yep. I didn't have a barrel big enough to take my wheel and Mrs. BrensBenz wasn't keen on having a wheel in the bath but brushing sudsy water onto the tyre with a paint brush worked well enough.

My tyre was slowly loosing air from somewhere. The sudsy water pointed to the valve stem - the small rubber tube that carries the valve. The seal between it and the tyre / wheel had failed and was easily rotated. It wasn't an obvious cause but Fairy Liquid found it for me.

just and update . filled the tyre to 32psi this morning and been driving and left the car sitting for a few hours . just went to the garage and checked its still at 32 psi ? maybe someone did leave air out of it im thinking :)

1 more question is 32psi all round ok for tyre size 225/45/R17 on a vw passat ?

My car came stock with 16" wheels. I've upgraded to 17" , The sticker I have gives me pressure for 16" wheels. (2.2 bar afaik ) ?

    thanks again everyone :)

outside my house yes , but only 1 tyre and the valve cap was in place . strange one lol

You could have a nail embedded in the tyre which could result in a really slow puncture. I'd still examine the tyre if I was you, perhaps the soapy water trick described above.

it could be a slightly dodgy valve. when you pumped the tyre you might have reseated the valve

I had a car with dodgy valves on two wheels, drove me nuts that I couldn't figure out why they deflating.
A local fastfit changed both free.
