Lightweight Tent

I'm looking for a lightweight tent, 1 - 2 man.

Ideally one that can stand up to wind and rain as i want it for Mountain camping off season.

I have some vango ones but the ground sheets are all the same and tend to sweat. and if you camping on wet ground unless you bring a mat your gonna get wet.


any one have any recommendations.

Packs small, weights next to nothing. You can't swing a cat inside but if that isn't a factor you won't do much better.

I recently got the 2015 vango blade 200..awesome tent..first night in it last night with wind a rain and it was perfect.ground was soaking wet,no issues there either.I just had the cheap foam mats...

Everyone brings a mat of some sort.you dont just sleep bare on the groundsheet.

I had no issues with groundsheet..plenty of vents in the tent also

thanks for your reply, love it but it has a separate top sheet i'm hoping to get one with an integrated one. its in the running though.

thanks for your reply also, I have seen the blade, they are cool, windwise i think the ZENITH or the MIRAGE look like they have a better profile when it comes to wind. but weight wise its also a good option.

on the ground mat i get you, i use a foam mat for sleeping on but i meant when you put gear beside you. I have a Vango Tempest 300 and the ground sheets just annoy me.

Loads of options.. Im only going to focus on 1 Man as you could spend the day doing this...

The TarpTent range of tents are very highly regarded in the lightweight backpacking community.
Terra Nova have a long history with quality. Their most "famous" tent being the Quasar. Their Laser comes in a number of styles, regular to ultra (packed weight of around 600g)
Hilleberg are in the higher end of things. Amazing tents though.

Im lucky enough to have a number of tents, 2 of which are 1 Man. Mountain Hardwear Sprite 1 and a Hilleberg Soulo.

The Soulo is built like a bomb shelter, total overkill for Ireland but I love it !! The MH is like a coffin but very light ( I rarely use it though).
