    Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has good notes for Separation of Powers, particularly for The President and Commutative & Distributive Justice?

If so, it would be much appreciated if you could send them on to me!

    Thanks,
    Hugo

That time of year again when the slackers come looking for hand outs.

Good luck in your exams buddy.

A good starting point would be to note that the President really won the booby prize in the Separation of Powers, to the extent that they are a part of that separation at all.

Unless, of course, you think that the Art 26 reference procedure is the most powerful thing in the State. In which case I think you will do excellently in your constitutional law exam and needn't worry about notes.

Being the Royal loving British person that I am I drew parallels to the Monarchy's role during the world wars. I think that was found 'interesting' and managed to score me a high 2.1 - I'm not sure it's something you want to try and pull off at the last minute though! :pac:

Notes will do you no good if you don't understand the material, which I'm assuming you don't.

Your best bet is to look at your reading list, find some articles which cover these topics and read them. Articles always managed to help me understand things that I didn't get from lectures. You'll also be expected to have done some reading other than cases, so a few quotes would help you too.

At the end of the day though, it's your fault that you slacked off so don't expect people to be throwing their notes at you.

Wow, why all the hostility and presumptions?

First of all, I am far from a slacker!

My lecturer simply removed some of the lecture notes from Blackboard.

I happen to have deleted the Separation of Powers notes months ago, after they were handed out.

MightyMandarin, get down off your high horse. There is nothing difficult to understand about Separation of Powers. We last looked at this topic in September. As I'm sure you are aware, it's not the most exciting of topics so I am merely looking for notes that can briefly summarise the important points.

Sure why don't you just pull out your handwritten lecture notes because as you are not a slacker I am sure that you attended and took summary notes.

Have you asked anyone in your class for the lecturer's notes?

Have you asked your lecturer to put the notes back up?

Have you tried to recover the notes which you deleted?

You should do these things before you go around asking random people for notes which they spent time writing up.

    MightyMandarin,

At what point did I ask for notes from people which they 'spent time writing up?'

A lot of people have their lecturer's FE1 notes lying around which often sum up topics in a page or less - that's what I'm looking for.

The notes my lecturer gives out are often too long, hence why I haven't asked her or any one else in my class.

Do you honestly have nothing better to be doing than trolling other people's posts? You clearly have too much spare time on your hands.

If you don't have anything helpful to say, then why bother saying anything!

Anyway, in the time you've been on this topic trying to start an argument, someone else has kindly messaged me to forward on some FE1 notes that I can use for college.

You asked for people's notes. People tend to write notes up themselves in lectures, or from their own reading. Slackers don't do any of this and usually end up asking people for their notes this time of year.

FE1 Summaries are good to flick through quickly before an exam, but are not nearly enough if you're going to use it as your main resource. If you're looking to learn the entire concept of the Separation of Powers in a page or less, then you will get slaughtered in the exam. Just a word of warning.

I'm not trolling you at all, and the fact you're accusing me of such a thing shows that you really have no idea what trolling really is.

I suggested you to go ask people who would be more likely/willing to help you than here. That's helpful.

Good to see that someone decided to help you and your problem has been solved. Next time you might want to backup your files in case you delete them again.

This whole discussion is absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe I'm even replying to yourself or Mr. Incognito.

Like I said, I am far from a slacker. I have attended college all year, and I love my course!

I was simply looking for summary notes to make sure that I have covered all of the main points.

With all due respect, I didn't ask for your word of warning, or either of your irrelevant replies for that matter.

I hardly ever use this site because of the attitudes of people like yourselves!

And by the way, there's nothing wrong with asking a stranger for their help! At the end of the day, is that not the whole point of this website!

There comes a point where you have stop wondering why does everyone else have an attitude problem, and start asking yourself if it's actually you with the problem.

You asked for help and you got it. No need to start flipping out at me because you lost your notes and weren't bothered to ask the people at your college.

Best of luck in your constitutional exam anyway, and try not to make the same mistake next year.

OP, this is a discussion site, not a trading board for you to get notes. I appreciate that you may have exams coming up but this really isn't the place to get what you want.

If somebody wants to send you notes, I don't think that the mods of this forum will have any difficulty with that but it doesn't look like anybody wants to assist. If that's the case, you could consider buying FE-1 notes on Constitutional Law from Adverts.ie or another similar site.
