Due to a possible longer commute for work I am going to have to get a diesel.
Budget is around 11k. Not a lover of normal everyday type cars and don't care of it's a 2 door, 4 door or even an SUV but it has to be a really nice place to be for a 90 minute commute twice a day.
I am a lover of all things luxurious.
Trying to keep the tax to around 1k a year but will stretch to the 1.4k for the right car.
Reliability is kind of a must too.
So far I'm thinking along the lines of the following:
    merc CLS 320
    Merc clk 270
    Volvo s80 2.4 d5
    Vw tourag 2.5
    BMW 525d
    BMW 730 / Audi a8
    Jag xtype 2.2d

Anyone have any experience with the above or maybe give me some other cars to think about.

Not really interested in the run of the mill 2l BMW's, mercs,Audi's etc..

Also I would prefer an auto if possible

friend of mine recently got an 06Toyota Amazon and when the tax expired got it taxed as a commercial with two rows of seats remaining, serious set of wheels may be a bit heavier on diesel but a great saving on the road tax to go towards the fuel
