    when is the student of the year announced in GMIT? and how does it work, really? do they choose the best student from each class or the department?

    One student is chosen from each year, depending solely on who has the highest grades as far as I know. They let you know in the letter they send out with the graduation tickets. It could vary depending on department though, really not too sure.

    Think it's a whole load of things like attendance, society work etc. Not just grades.
