Decent Mouse and Keyboard

Hey lads, I'm looking to buy a decent mouse and keyboard, preferably wireless.

I'm going to be using a ds4 for gaming so only really need them for typing and general use. I'll be doing a lot of programming for college and a friend told me to look for a second hand mechanical keyboard.

I'd say €100 is my limit for both.

    Thanks.

I just got the Corsair M65 rgb mouse, very happy with it however it will be out of budget for you if you want a mech keyboard also. Tbh you may have to settle for one or the other for now and then save more money and get the other, mechanical keyboards are quite expensive.

My mouse was 65 euro for me, and if you're willing to spend that I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks! It looks a class mouse but would it be overkill considering I won't be gaming with it?

I completely got confused by Ds4, and assumed you still wanted a gaming mouse. My apologies.

In this case I suppose you could cheap out on the mouse and then try and squeeze a mech keyboard, however then again there still is a difference, although you may not notice it as much when working.

I know there was the CM quickfire tk mech keyboard for under 100 I seen, but I can't seem to find it anymore. My friend has one and it feels fairly sturdy and nice, a bit heavy but as far as I know most mechanical keyboards are.
I'll have another search for it now.

    EDIT: https://geizhals.de/?fs=Quickfire+TK&in=

a few there well under 80 actually

Edit 2: use that only as a price point though, because they're all with the german key layout

For €100 you're not going to get what you want, you'll have to compromise on something.

For a wireless mouse, I'd recommend the Logitech M705, the battery life is unreal - the main problem with a lot of wireless mice has been the battery drain, but this one is hassle free, I'd highly recommend it.

For keyboards, if you want wireless, don't bother spending money on mechanical keyboards. The biggest benefit of mechanical keyboards in their ability to handle multi-key rollover, and wireless doesn't appear to be responsive enough to handle this. Unless you're a fast competent typist you might want to consider something else, although they do feel great. I've had a Das Keyboard for years, and I hate having to use "normal" keyboards, but each to their own.

I think the "marathon" is the older model.

A Ducky Zero DK2108 is a very good mech keyboard and it's not the most expensive. It'll probably break your budget though.

In fairness, if you are just using them for general use, you could pickup various combos for €20 that would be more then adequate.

A mechanical keyboard is really nice, and I'll never go back to membrane, but I mostly made the change for gaming. Same with the mouse, I have the mouse I have for gaming, but in reality it's nothing special and I'm well aware of the "inflated gaming reviews" which is basically gamers spending big money on over priced items, then justifying them to the ground because of that price. Most Razer products would fall into this category :)

I needed a new mouse and keyboard for my HTPC, and just went down to Harvey Norman and picked up a bluetooth combo from Logitech for €25 and it's lovely.

Second hand mechanical keyboard is a good shout in fairness. There is a mechanicalkeyboard subreddit that you can get good **** second hand (mostly based in US tho) and massdrop.com every now and then have smashing group buys.

I've had my eye out for a poker board for some time now.

Been popping in and out of that subreddit to see some keyboard pr0n! It makes me want to go mechanical all the more. Was also looking at mass drop and I thought the prices are okay, you can certain things cheaper elsewhere online, but they do o in on stuff that is more exclusive which is pretty nice.
