    Hi all,

What are lads paying for labourers? I have a small garden maintenance enterprise and employ a recently retired mate for about a day and a half per week. Currently paying him €10 an hour cash. He does not really need the money but likes the work. Is this the norm or am I under/overpaying?

I've a lad comes with me on Saturdays. He's 16 and I give him €7.50 per hour and his dinner.
€10 per hour seems ok to me anyway.

Probably not wise to post about illegal hiring practices on a public message board - FYI

Nothing illegal about paying someone in cash.. I'm sure OP makes the required stoppages and hands over the balance in cash. ;)
