We are going to Lanzorote for first time. This may sound a daft question but I am thinking of booking seat selection. With Aer Lingus at Acerife is it airbridge, bus from stand or walk to terminal.
    Thanks in advance:confused:

Was there in Feb. on an Aer Lingus flight and it was a short bus ride to the terminal though I can see air bridges on Google Earth.

What has seat selection got to do with it?

It's nearly always a bus out to the aircraft there.

As for seat selection, whether you pay in advance to select a seat or wait til check-in to do so for free, you'll be selecting a seat. How you board the aircraft makes no difference.

FWIW, if you're travelling in peak period, a lot of passengers select their seats in advance, so if you're travelling with family, you'd be as well to do the same to ensure you're seated together.

I am not bothered about boarding. Its deboarding. An airbridge is at the front usually but steps are used front and back.I dont want to be at the back if only front is open. Thanks for both for replies.

I have flown there a few times with Aer Lingus and it has always been bus to the airport. All the times bar once you could board the bus via the front and rear door. The one time you could only get off on the front was due to there only one bus available at the time.

All of the replies say that it's a bus in Arecife so you need to avoid the middle of the plane! If you do an online check-in beginning 30 hours before the flight, seat selection is free.

It's possible that the air bridges deliver you straight to the baggage hall in which case they'd only be used for Spanish and Schengen flights.

Tactically I'd say you need to be in the last 12 or front 12 rows to get the first bus, that's assuming the flight is more than half full and they need two buses to ship you to the terminal.

Ignore the e-mail they will send you about 4-5 days before the flight encouraging you to select a seat, they're looking for money off you!

Thanks again.Coylemy as you say on tactics that is what I try to do in relation to seating. As a committed smoker it doesnt bother me on the plane or airport but once I see us landing ,doors opening and then there are people start to decide to get ready as the queue is already moving for 15 mins or more and hold up half a plane stuck behind them.I need a smoke now.Rant over.

Can't really see the issue as you have to wait for the bus and you have to wait for your bags (if you are checking any).

You will be waiting on the bus rather than on the plane. The buses do not move off until they are full and trust me you do not want to be caught smoking on the runway.
