Hi, I just got a quote of €250 for a girl to sing at my wedding in Cork, she plays piano and guitar so does her own accompaniment. Is this a good price? I'm just starting to look so I'm unsure of going rates.

Yes, that is a good rate if you like her.

That's a very good rate cause youre getting the musician included.

that is good. I'm paying 450 in total.
    200 for the singer
    250 for the harpist

So to get musician and singer for 250 is good. They should have a website where you can see Youtube videos of them singing?

350 - 500 euro were any quotes I got so seems very good

That sounds fine to me. I spoke to a friend about playing the piano for our wedding - as an accompanist to others singing. She is a professional musician and we worked out a 'friends' rate' of €150. So I would say her full rate would be €200 or €250. And if your musician is singing and playing piano and guitar I would think that €250 is reasonable.

If you really like her , you should book her. That's a very good rate. Most people performing at that rate or less may not be as talented.

    Give her €200 cash.

Is she is in demand, experienced, professionally savvy then yes it is amazing price for a self accompanied option. Try and pop along to her ceremony to see how she executes logistics if you can... I'e does She have proper gear, amplification, does she flow with the ceremony well. Etc.

You might want to do a bit more homework but if you like her then book away :)

Ooh it would be a cash payment anyway. I've priced around 2-3 others in recent days and pricings are €350+... I'm still waiting on few more.. But with pricings I'm getting im pressed to go with her I think

Sounds like a good deal, our cellist is €325 in SW France (not having a singer...)

Paying cash makes no difference: when gigging musicians are audited, Revenue look at diaries, booking records etc. If you want to guarantee that the musician is available, then your name needs to go into these records.
