UK (Northern Ireland) Inheritance, next of kin question

If a named beneficiary on a will dies in Northern Ireland, do his children get passed on inheritance via next of kin?

For example, my father died before my grandmother died recently. My father was named on will, however my brother and I are wondering if we automatically qualify for our father's share of our grandmother's estate.

There are two other named beneficiaries on the will, my aunt and uncle, however we are wondering if they absorb my deceased father's share or if me and my brother get my father's share.

    Thanks
