Has the Aer Lingus pre-order food service been cancelled.

The option is no longer available on the Manage My Booking section. I am getting a message saying

"•Dublin - San Francisco: Pre-Order meals are launching soon on this flight. In the meantime, our delicious Bia menu will be available for you to purchase on-board"

I read elsewhere (a.net) that pre-order is ended on shorthaul but still there on longhaul.
Apparently EI are trying to reduce numbers in their catering staff so unable to load pre-order meals fresh onto the A320 when they get back to DUB/SNN/ORK.
I assumed it was a good revenue stream for EI.

I had a pre-order cancelled by Aer Lingus and had to apply for a re-fund. Short haul.

Was this not a money maker for EI on shorthall? I thought I'd read here and other places it was preforming well? is there any real difference between Ryanair/business and EI at all

It's been halted temporarily, until catering issues have been sorted out.

Due to consistent issues all Short haul Pre-Order Meals bookeduntil 30th June are being cancelled with immediate effect. Some error in the systems where catering weren't getting told about orders or something along those lines

Glad to hear it's not being done away with. The All Day Breakfast was always a favourite to order...good value and good quality compared to some of the over priced inedible crap you get in the terminal 'Refuel T1 I'm looking at you !'

Yeah. Ryanair business is a much much better product.

    Fairly big catering issue. Why?

I took my flight yesterday on which I had a pre-order cancelled and, lo and behold, it was delivered to my seat. :)
