Had a couple in the car last night recounting a tale about a friend who was prosecuted for traveling in excess of 50Kph on a part of the Finglas Road, the bit under the bridge for anyone that knows the area.

Anyway, they said that the Gard reckoned it was a 50 limit because of the 50 sign on the slip road up to the bridge and their friend duly got prosecuted for it

Now I do take most things said to me in the taxi with a pinch of salt but they were adamant that this happened, so just in case anyone else ever meets a Gard with the same thoughts, then refer them to this

The main road is 60. The side slip road changes from 60 to 50 at that sign. The main road is signed as 60.

I have passed Garda speed cameras so many times on that road, including yesterday, with everyone doing 60 and not one car stopped.

    Before the flyover bridge -

    After the flyover bridge -

No change of speed in between.

    It's a 60 zone. :D
