Help with construction business?

    Hi everyone, i have just set up my own carpentry/construction company and am clueless to a lot of things as i have only ever been employed. So far i have just registered for income tax, registered a business name and applied for a business bank account. I will get some business cards made up this week hopefully and would like to know what else i should do before i start trading. Also if there is any useful posts you think may help me could you please link them here.

    You will also want to register for VAT and RCT. If you want to go for public tenders you want to consider registering with CIRI. Also make sure you have your insurances in place. Best of luck.

    did you register as limited?
    Have you any sort of client base?
    Also have you priced any work yet??

    I registered as a sole trader, not limited as far as i know. At the moment i dont have my own clients. Im getting my business cards designed at the moment and will start throwing them here and there in order to get my own clients aswell. As for pricing jobs, no not yet. Ive a friend willing to help me on that end though.
